New Writer in Residence

The second Joan Chittister Writer-in-Residence for 2022 will conclude her month-long residency in Erie on September 28th. Ailie Posilico, a doctoral candidate at Villanova University, is using this time to work on her dissertation proposal, which explores a medieval religious community centered on the writings of Mechtild of Magdeburg.  “I can’t thank you enough for this opportunity. To be able to work all day uninterruptedly and then spend time with really cool women every evening, all punctuated by the liturgy of the hours: what a privilege,” Ailie said. 

 



The Joan Chittister Writer-in-Residence program offers a small stipend, as well as room and board at Mount Saint Benedict Monastery, to women writers working on subjects related to Sister Joan’s areas of interest.
